WHAKATIWAI LAST YEAR

One series that I am working on is WHAKATIWAI LAST YEAR (It might not be, but then again).

A rather cumbersome title that will be abbreviated but explains the idea behind these pictures. There are 6 individual works at the moment. Numbers 1-3 were exhibited at the Warwick Brown Show a couple of years ago under the titles DON’T CRY FOR ME WHAKATIWAI (Whakatiwai being the area adjacent to Kaiaua where the Penguin Studio has been located for the last 20 plus years). I hope to produce more in the series but will finish these six to establish a sortov parameter for more to follow.

These works will be completed prior to the Open days and I would prefer to sell them as a unit but would consider other options.

If you check out the last photographs of the SOUTH WALL you will see that they are becoming more individualised and this process will continue over the next week.

The above early November photograph shows the six paintings assembled as a possible display or freightable unit.

The September photograph on the right shows the paintings lined up on the aisle carpet to dry after undergoing some work.
